Particularly: “Brown claims a borrowing from Sanskrit भीति (bhīti, fear, alarm, dread, danger), but this seems semantically suspect. Burrow, on the other hand, considers this a native Dravidian term, and links it to Konda-Dora [script needed] (bīduṛ, poor, wretched).”
